See what your margin really costs, on your own data.
One export of one pilot product group, pseudonymised. That is everything we need from you to show whether the patterns we typically find sit in your numbers too.
A short briefing and a results meeting are optional, and we recommend both.
Sound familiar?
Discounts and special terms grow across sales and key accounts without ever coming together in one place. Nobody sees at a glance what margin per customer really costs.
Your price model lives in spreadsheets that have grown over years. The logic is held by a handful of people, and management rightly wonders whether the numbers still hold.
When management asks how margin is developing, the answer takes time or stays vague. Not because the team is not working, but because the data does not come together cleanly enough.
The article margin against revenue view shows at a glance which products are stars, which are niche, and where we need to reprice. About half of the findings we had on our radar. The other half we genuinely did not.
What we typically find, from real engagements, anonymised
€60k
gap between calculated and invoiced margin
1 : 13
price spread on one article, same period
76
products below target margin
1 week
from export to findings
Four steps.
A few hours of your time.
No project, no system access, no IT ticket, no meetings required. One data export of one pilot product group, we do the rest.
One data extract
Your effort: one export, a few hours at most
You name the pilot product group and get a checklist: which fields, which period, which format. The export comes from ERP, BI or Excel, pseudonymised and without customer names. Write access is never needed. If you like, we agree the product group in a short briefing first, optional and recommended.
Analysis, one week
Your effort: none
We do the work and you hear nothing from us for a week. Then there is a result: named articles, named customer segments, every finding with an amount and the derivation behind it, plus an ROI calculation on your numbers.
Findings, then your decision
Then you decide
You receive the findings as a document and in your own read-only access. If you like, we walk through them together in a results meeting, optional and recommended. You keep the analysis whatever you decide afterwards. If the findings are too thin to act on, we say so instead of dressing them up.
Optional: a system that keeps watching
Nothing happens automatically
The scan is a snapshot taken from one export. A system that keeps watching needs a read-only connection to your order and invoice data. It then checks cost trends, price floors and customer development continuously.
Your data stays your data: handed over pseudonymised, held in the EU, deleted when your access ends.
A still image of your product group,
with names and amounts.
One pilot product group at one point in time: which articles, which customers, which amount. Everything in it can be looked up in your own systems.
Cases, not categories
This article number, this customer, this period, this amount, with the derivation showing how the figure comes about.
The patterns behind them
Prices that have not moved in years while costs rose, spreads on one article between customers, the gap between calculated and invoiced margin.
An ROI projection
What the identified potential is worth if you act on it, calculated on your numbers, with the assumptions stated and a range instead of a single figure.
Four weeks in the cockpit
Your own read-only access with your numbers in it, so the findings can be checked by the people who own them. After that we delete your data.
Included
The scan examines a selected slice of your portfolio, deliberately limited, so you have a reliable basis for a decision quickly.
A still image of one pilot product group, analysed at invoice line level
Identified potential as cases by article number, customer and period
The recurring patterns in your data, named and evidenced with examples
An ROI projection with assumptions, range and payback period
The full documentation, which is yours to keep
Your own access for four weeks, after that we delete your data
Clearly defined.
You decide after every step.
The Margin Scan runs on a fixed price, quoted before you start and independent of how much we find. If you go on to work with the platform, the scan fee is credited in full within 2 months (signature, not implementation). There is no follow-up commitment: once you have the findings you decide whether it goes further, and about a third of scans end there.
For perspective: one pilot product group with around €3M in annual revenue held roughly €19k to €44k per year in identified deviation from target margin, about €31k in the base case. How much of that you can move depends on contracts and terms a data extract does not contain. The scan shows where the deviations sit, not which of them you can push through.
A B2B company with its own product portfolio, and 36 months of invoice history you can export.
What it takes to run a scan
This is mindblowing. With this accuracy I can even plan my growth and my resources on it.
I consider your tool highly effective.
Five thoughts
you probably have right now.
Our controlling team has this covered.
Largely yes, for top products and top customers. The patterns sit in the long tail that no manual review reaches.
We already have this in ERP and BI.
True, for everything that has already happened. ERP and BI are your rear-view mirror and they are complete for what has been invoiced. Valento shows what is building right now, before it appears in reporting.
Our data is not clean enough for this.
That is exactly what the scan is built for. It starts with a data audit and shows you in one week what your data can support, before you have to decide anything.
What if you find nothing?
So far we have found something in every engagement. But do not take our word for it: ask for an anonymised case study at hello@valento.io, or speak to one of our customers first. We arrange the contact.
Is our data safe?
You hand over pseudonymised data: no customer names, only consistent keys, and the mapping table stays with you. Held in the EU, GDPR-compliant. When your access ends we delete it together with our working copies. More in the FAQ.
One export. One week.
Then you decide.
Every scan is run by the founding team in person, so only a few run in parallel and start dates depend on capacity. Not ready yet? The Margin Brief gives you one case, one lever and one benchmark a month.
